Private AI

Is our data used to train AI?
No. Content sent to the private AI isn't used to train models.
Can Helmwise staff read our notes?
Saved notes live in Handover's database, limited to your vessel's crew by position and role. Helmwise accesses stored data only as needed to run and support the service, under our data processing agreement.
What if private AI is down?
The AI step fails and the crew member can try again or type the details. Nothing is quietly sent to a public AI service. Backup providers would only be used after we tell you.
Do we need to change anything?
No. There's nothing to install, configure or switch on. We'll confirm with you before your vessel moves over.
Which AI models are used?
Open-source speech and language models, run inside the sealed hardware. Model versions may be updated over time.
Can we object to a provider?
Yes. You'll get notice by email before a new sub-processor is used, and 30 days to object.
